I have had several people, including many in my weight loss group, who have asked for a photo journey of my weight loss journey. This is what I put together. It is a collage of six photos that take me from October of 2018 to October of 2019. The photo on the top left is the anniversary photo we had taken on October 17, 2018 where I weighed 168 pounds. The photo next to it was taken on December 23, 2018. I had already lost 15 pounds. I was so excited. I was on my way to embracing many new habits. The photo where I am wearing the black dress and yellow sweater was taken on April 20, 2019, the day after our 50th anniversary. I weighed 135 pounds, only five pounds from my goal. Next to that is a photo we had taken on our trip to the Smoky Mountains in May of 2019. I hiked a lot and did something I didn’t think I would be able to do again. I climbed a very steep half mile grade to the top of Clingman’s Dome in Smoky Mountains National Park. I had my stamina and strength back. The bottom left photo was taken on July 20, 2019. I had made my goal and weighed 130 pounds. It felt good to enjoy the day and dance with my son at his wedding. The final photo was taken on October 29, 2019, a little over a year since my journey began. We took a four day trip to Nashville, Tennessee. I still feel great. walk a lot and have been able to maintain my weight loss using all I have learned. |
These photos may show the physical results of my weight loss, but they don’t show how much healthier I feel or the new healthy habits I have embraced. I am most pleased with the fact that I have easily maintained my weight loss for over three months and that my new lifestyle and eating have become daily habits for me. My quality of life has improved greatly and I enjoy every day to its fullest. |
Thanks for sharing this, Christine! It is inspiring to see your journey.
Mary, It is a daily journey. I feel so much better and am still working hard at maintaining what I have accomplished so far.
