Never Stop Dreaming

For the past five weeks, I have been posting the prologue and the first four chapters of my novel, Justice For Lindsey. When I began, I said that I would post the first ten chapters. However, the feedback has been phenomenal. Because of it, I pressed forward to get it edited. I am happy to say, as of today, the novel, Justice For Lindsey, by Christina Siwik, is available as an e-book for Kindle on Amazon.com. For those of you who want to know how the mystery progresses and finally comes to an end, you will have to read the book.

For those of you who have not read any or all of the posts, here is the premise for the story: “Carron Maitland and Jake Brennan would have never met in another time and another place. Carron had it all. The heiress to a fortune had built her own successful business from the ground up. Soon, her world comes crashing down and secrets from the past threaten her very life. Jake, a former policeman turned successful mystery author, sets out to write a true-crime novel and in the process, try to solve a twenty-five-year-old murder. Now, Jake and Carron are brought together and combine their talents and resources to bring closure to the past.”

The question is-Will there be justice for Lindsey?

I have to thank many people for this. I especially want to thank my author sister, Ruth Kyser. She has given me so much advice and both moral support and technical assistance. I also want to thank all the members of my blog support group. They, as well as others, gave me feedback on whether my story was interesting enough to publish. Through their encouragement, I gained the confidence to JUST DO IT!

I think it only fitting, that this novel is available on what would have been my brother’s 84th birthday. Sadly, he was taken from us 55 years ago. He was a writer of poetry. Some days, when I am having a bad day, I get his book out and read one of his poems. They always give me faith and encouragement to keep moving forward.

I have found it a bit surreal reading my own manuscript on my personal Kindle. It has also been a bit eye-opening. I felt like I edited the manuscript a hundred times, yet as I read it “live” I keep seeing all these things that need fixing (I am a perfectionist). That, however, is not a problem. Self-publishing through Kindle Direct lets me go in and resubmit my manuscript anytime I want. I will be fixing the areas that bother me today, and resubmitting tomorrow. They aren’t anything extreme; just some syntax things that really bother me. So if you purchase the e-book now and notice anything, rest assured, I am fixing it.

Is there something you want to try or some talent you have but are afraid to share it with others? You will never know if you just don’t try. I dedicated this first novel to my long departed mother. She too was a writer of short stories, but never got them published. One of the first things she ever taught all of us was that the word CAN’T did not exist. Her comment was always, “How do you know if you never try.” Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. You will never know unless you try.

One advantage of publishing an e-book on Amazon, is that you can set up an author page. Here is the link to my page: https://www.amazon.com/author/christinasiwik. If you click on it, you will automatically be able to purchase my e-book. Check it out.

I am in the process of formatting my book for it to come out in paperback. As soon as the back cover art is available, I will be able to publish that via Amazon as well. Keep an eye out for that. I will more than likely post its availability via my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/yogaherbalteaandme/. You can also search in Facebook for Chris’s Inspirations.

In case you are wondering where I obtained such great cover art, I used the website recommended to me by my sister. I want to give credit for the cover design to SelfPubBookCovers.com/LaLimaDesign.

You can follow this link and go directly to Amazon to purchase Justice For Lindsey.https://www.amazon.com/dp/b08b43cxjz/fef=cm_sw_r_em_api_i_c_trs5ebnd5erj6

Once you have read the entire novel, be sure to leave a review on Amazon. I want to hear from you. It will help me in knowing what my readers like. I am currently working on another novel. I hope it doesn’t take as long to complete as this one. It will be an anthology of shorter mysteries that I am writing. Each story will have recurring characters. If you read Justice For Lindsey, you may recognize their names as well as the story titles. I hope I can have this book completed by the first of next year. I am certainly going to try.

Until next time, “Don’t Save Today for Tomorrow.”
